Audi A4 Allroad Is A Car Of The Year Contender

This is a yearly thing from Motor Trend but some potential buyers do take stock of the outcome in their final purchase decision.
The Audi A4 Allroad made it onto the contender list along with a lot of other models, but failed to move onto the final round. Think it should have been moved up instead of one of these models?

2018 CAR OF THE YEAR FINALISTS:

Alfa Romeo Giulia
Honda Accord
Honda Civic Type R
Kia Rio
Kia Stinger
Lexus LC
Porsche Panamera
Tesla Model 3

Of all models its up against I think the Kia Stinger might have a chance at topping it just for the fact the Stinger resonates with the market far better. This B9 A4 is nice but at the end of the day its not a ground breaking product, just Audi's offering to the segment it plays in, a segment that has many (sometimes better) options.

What's your take on it?

With how crazy the internet has been for the Kia Stinger, I wouldn't be surprised if it won as the 2017 Car of the Year. There are other high performance cars on the list, but the stinger is just an overall good pacakge for what you pay and modding enthusiasts will definitely love it.
Then there's the Honda Civic Type R that received a lot of hype this year, especially since it landed on North America shores this year.

Stinger has made the biggest impact and it has resonated the most with car buyers these days, its what they're looking for and what they wanted from the 90's. If Kia keeps this up then they could see a big shift in how people buy.

In the past few years, Kia was an ugly duckling of the automotive scene, however, the new Stinger can breathe new life into their brand name. I hope Kia will use Stinger as the foundation of their design language.

This may not be a Motor Trend award, but Cars.com is still a reputable site for automotive news and reviews. This year, the 2018 Audi A4 was crowned Luxury Car of the Year and it had some stiff competition for the title. It was up against the 2018 BMW X1 and 2018 Genesis G90, both amazing cars in their own right.

It's pretty interesting to me, to see the Kia Rio on that list. I really don't see measuring up to the various other contenders. I suppose it does have some warrant on the sole basis of how much value you get for the price. Kia certainly has been making waves with the new Stinger and I hope its styling is an indication of the brands direction moving forward.

When looking for models that have made a big impact on the industry I guess it can be said that the Rio is part of that. Doing some quick research I have seen how much people are liking it. I can tell you right now that if i was shopping in that market the Rio would be on my list.
