A4 B9 gets tuning job from ABT Sportsline

ABT Sportline already has a couple of tuning kits for the S4 and RS4, but now they have turned their sights to the regular A4 models of the latest generation. With their own ECU's the tuner can raise outputs of the 4 and 6 cylinder petrol and diesel engines, upwards of 320hp and 487lb-ft of torque in the 3.0 TDI. That's roughly a 52hp and 37lb-ft of torque increase over the stock model. Additionally ABE will also provide new suspension springs, and add ons for the grille, front and rear bumpers and fender inserts. Finally new tailpipes and a choice of one of four rim choices will be available in a variety of sizes and finishes.

I was impressed by ABT's Aero wheel concept which while it would work well on the RS4, the odds of you seeing someone with it are very low.

However there's a lot of potential to sell these to R8 owners. It rivals well to what Porsche offers on high trim 911's.

Not entirely sure what other components may have been changed, but those are some impressive figures if its on an ECU tune alone. I'm glad to see that ABT is finally having a look at lower trim models, because the RS4 and RS6 kits they debuted are really only going to be for that top 1%.

If paying 1/3 or less of what ABT parts typically cost seem attractive to you then considering knock off versions from cheaper aftermarket brands is worth looking into.

Sometimes those knock off brands address issues that exist with the authentic product's build quality, so it can be a bigger win.

APR is worth looking into as well, but I don't think you're going to save much money there. If you are just looking for performance upgrades, ECS tuning also has some solid options.

As long as the tune does what you want I think whatever the cost it'll be worth the experience because its a one time purchase that lasts us the life time of the vehicle.
