Volcano Red is an option on the current B8 Audi A4 and Audi Q5. In person, Volcano Red has an orange hue to it and looks much different from Misano or Brilliant Red. Not even close in person.

I prefer the Misano Red...

I think that the Misano red looks sportier than the volcanic red which is darker and consequently looks a bit more pedestrian. A good red should stand out, not try to blend in.

Volcano Red is definitely a bit "darker", but the beautiful metallic effect in the sunlight is anything but "pedestrian". It really is a gorgeous color when it's gleaming in the light, showing off its orange tones.

I wouldn't say either is "sportier" -- just one is red, and one is orange-red.
Alpha likes this.

Sending it off to a detailer to bring out the colors true tone to its maximum potential is going to be a must soon after taking delivery!

For sure! Really any car can benefit from a good detail!

What exactly is involved with that? What do they do to the car in order to "bring our the color's true tone to its maximum potential?"

From what i heard... they don't come out perfect from the plant.

Plus in transport they could get little scratches from rocks and sand

It's very common for new cars to get what's called "rail dust" from train shipping, when the cars are shipped to port. Usually needs a good detail upon delivery to get it off.
