2018 Audi A4 Pros and Cons

AutoGuide recently highlighted the pros and cons of the new A4. In terms of pros they could it to be well equipped even in the entry level trim, with a quiet cabin and solid high tech interior design. They also noted great driving dynamics due to the 2.0 liter turbo powertrain and 7 speed DCT transmission. For cons they found the design a little uninspired as it remains fairly similar to traditional Audi products. They also found long term ownership and repair costs to be quite steep, and will most likely leave a larger dent in your wallet than some other alternatives. Lastlt they found the back seat space to be quite poor, especially for knee and foot room. Here's a link for a more in depth look.

Extended warranty should alleviate future repair costs but maintenance is all on you. Not bad if you go to a trusted garage instead of a stealership so long as you keep proof of proper maintenance. And rear legroom doesn't really matter all that much to me so long as it can fit 3 people. The benefits outweighs the negatives in my mind.

Lol well obviously the rear leg room isn't going to matter to the driver, but that's an important factor for those looking for a proper family sedan. I'm not sure if Audi has delivered enough in the A4 to really give it a leg up over much cheaper alternatives like the new Accord. That model will surely have cheaper ownership costs and I've seen some impressive specs with an aftermarket tune. Any idea what mod support is like for the A4?

Back in the day, my parents managed to fit three kids and two adults in a tiny sedan. Families will survive with a bit less rear passenger space so long as those children seats can be safely buckled in.

It's getting more and more difficult to convince consumers to buy into sedans these days, so having extra head or leg room in the backseats can make a significant difference in which model someone leans toward. I do think Audi may have to consider lower priced base models in the future, because there are more and more cheaper rivals joining the segment.
